I’ve wanted to do a wild camp / Bivy night for quite a while and with the nights at their shortest (the day before the Summer Solstice), combined with favourable weather we packed the jetboil, some coffee, our sleeping bags, and of course (for me) the X100T.
It was a fantastic evening with some of the nicest post sunset/pre sunrise light I’ve witnessed here on the North Coast. The X100T (combined with some filters from Formatt Hitech) helped me to really capture the mood (all of my images were taken the following morning from around 1 hour before sunrise through to around 1 hour after sunrise.
It was also on this trip that I started to fall a little bit more in love with the Velvia Film Simulation, one that I’d not really used that much in the past. Really helped some of those warm yellow and oranges glow (which is pretty close to how I remember seeing it)
The X100T is the perfect companion for trips like this, takes up hardly any room, I can use my filters with it and, of course, the images are of such beautiful quality. I still say the X100T is my favourite bit of Fuji kit.
Already now I’m looking forward to my next Bivy, perhaps next time up a mountain?
By the way, you can watch a little video of our time on the Bivy night over here.
